So much has been said about how good the system is, how beneficial the method is — but the underlying question that many ordinary people wonder about it is that what can you cut with a water jet machine? 

Beyond plastics and metals, there is more to what waterjet cutters can handle. Some could even surprise us. There is a lot more yet that we can learn about this wonderful material cutting technology.

Without further ado here are some of the important things to know about the waterjet system.  

1.) Food

Yes, absolutely — you are reading it right, food. There is an increasing use or application of water jet systems in the way we handle and process our food today. 

Waterjet cutting is a qualified sterile cutting method, very accurate, and most importantly it does not produce heat. Hence, it is not going to inflict damage to food items that are being cut.

5) Complex three-dimensional parts

When it comes to material cutting technologies, our natural tendency is to see them in a boxed-type of mentality. We always imagine that they cut out a flat shape material, that if you require a more intricate part then it will involve additional cuts. 

It is essentially a cutting job done in stages, that is you cut first in one axis and then you will move it and then proceed to cut another axis. Repeat as necessary.  

Needless to say, such a cutting approach is time-consuming and is prone to committing errors, too.
